Who we are

Mat-Engine Ltd, trading as Materials Engine, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17140446. Our registered office is Suite Ra01, 195–197 Wood Street, London E17 3NU, United Kingdom.

What we collect

The only personal data we collect directly is what you enter into the contact form: your name, work email address, organisation and the content of your message.

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and sets no cookies of its own. Our hosting provider records standard server information, including IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting the site.

Why we use it

We use the information you send to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss working together. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: replying to someone who has contacted us about our services.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or share them for any commercial purpose.

Who processes it

This website and its form handling are provided by Netlify, which stores submissions on our behalf. Notifications of those submissions are delivered to a mailbox hosted by Google. Both providers may process data outside the United Kingdom, under the safeguards set out in their own terms.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it takes to deal with the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally no more than two years. Where an enquiry becomes a client relationship, the records are kept under the retention rules that apply to that work.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To make a request, use the contact form on this website.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice if our practices change, and the date above will change with it.
